Kindness Day / Toothpaste Words Lesson
Toothpaste Words Lesson
Children squeeze toothpaste onto a plate and try to put it back, a simple demonstration of how words can't be taken back once said.
How to run it
- Give pairs or small groups a small tube of toothpaste and a plate.
- Ask them to squeeze some out.
- Challenge them to put it all back in the tube.
- Discuss how words are similar and how to choose kind ones.
You will need
- small toothpaste tubes
- paper plates
- wipes
Make it easier or harderKeep discussion simple for younger children; older children can role-play repairing hurtful words.
SafetyRemind children not to eat the toothpaste.
My Time Our Place · Outcome 3, Outcome 5Children reflect on how their words affect others and build positive relationships.
