Flying High / Wing Design Challenge
Wing Design Challenge
Children design and test paper wings and gliders to see which shape flies the furthest.
How to run it
- Show a few different wing shapes and talk about how they might fly.
- Have children design and fold their gliders.
- Launch from a starting line and measure the distance.
- Modify the design and test again to improve.
You will need
- paper
- tape
- measuring tape
- paper clips
Make it easier or harderProvide step-by-step folds for less confident children; others can test wing flaps.
SafetyRemind children not to throw towards faces.
