Diwali / Story of Light
Story of Light
Children listen to a story about Diwali and talk about what light over darkness and good over bad mean to them.
How to run it
- Choose a picture book about Diwali, ideally one recommended by local community or library resources.
- Read the story together and pause to look at the illustrations.
- Discuss how families celebrate and what light over darkness means.
- Invite children to draw a moment when they helped make something better.
You will need
- picture book about Diwali
- paper
- pencils and crayons
Make it easier or harderKeep discussion short for younger children; older children can compare festivals of light from different cultures.
