Around the World Day / Asian Cultures Food and Fun
Asian Cultures Food and Fun
Children try simple dishes, music and games from several Asian countries across one day, celebrating diversity in a hands-on way.
How to run it
- Choose three or four countries, ideally ones connected to families at the service.
- Set up a tasting station with a simple dish or snack from each.
- Play music and teach a traditional game from one or two countries.
- Invite families to share recipes, words or stories if they would like.
- Reflect together on what children enjoyed and learned.
You will need
- ingredients for simple dishes
- music playlist
- game equipment
- world map
Make it easier or harderKeep tastings simple for younger children; older children can help prepare a dish and present facts.
SafetyCheck all allergies and dietary requirements, including nuts, sesame and soy, and follow food hygiene.
