World Book Day / Stories Around the World Passport
Stories Around the World Passport
Children travel between reading stations, each with picture books and folk tales from a different country, collecting a stamp in their passport at every stop.
How to run it
- Set up four to six stations, each with books from or about a different country and a map showing where it is.
- Give each child a simple folded paper passport.
- Have children read or listen to a story at each station, then draw or write one thing they learnt.
- Stamp or sticker their passport before they move on, and invite families to share a story from their own culture.
You will need
- picture books and folk tales from different countries
- world map or printed maps
- folded paper passports
- stamps or stickers
- pencils
Make it easier or harderYounger children listen to an educator read at each station; older children compare how similar folk tales are told in different countries.
