Around the World Day / Playground Games From Many Countries
Playground Games From Many Countries
Children learn and play traditional games from other countries, such as stone-counting board games and team tag games, and compare them with games they know.
How to run it
- Choose a few games from different countries, such as a seed-counting board game and a team tag game.
- Explain where each game comes from and show it on a map.
- Teach the rules simply and play a practice round.
- Rotate groups between games.
- Ask which games are similar to ones they already play.
You will need
- game sets or egg cartons and counters
- cones
- world map
Make it easier or harderSimplify rules for younger children; older children can teach a game to others.
SafetyAgree on gentle tagging rules for active games.
