Mismatch Day / Opposites Says
Opposites Says
A twist on the classic follow-the-leader game where children do the opposite of what the leader says.
How to run it
- Gather children in a circle or open space.
- Explain they must do the opposite of each instruction.
- Give instructions like sit down, hands up or jump.
- Children who get it wrong can help lead the next round.
Make it easier or harderUse simple pairs for younger children; older children can lead and invent tricky instructions.
My Time Our Place · Outcome 4, Outcome 5Children develop listening and thinking skills through play.
