Opposites Day / Do the Opposite
Do the Opposite
Children listen carefully to instructions and do the exact opposite: sit when told to stand, whisper when told to shout. A giggly listening game.
How to run it
- Gather children in an open space.
- Explain that they must do the opposite of each instruction.
- Call out instructions quickly and slowly to catch them out.
- Let children take turns as the caller.
Make it easier or harderUse simple pairs for younger children; older children can handle faster, trickier instructions.
My Time Our Place · Outcome 5, Outcome 3Children listen, think and respond, building communication and self-regulation.
