Around the World Day / Country of the Day Stations
Country of the Day Stations
Children rotate through stations to cook a simple dish, draw the flag and design an outfit inspired by the country of the day while its music plays.
How to run it
- Choose a country and research a simple dish, its flag and its music.
- Set up a cooking station, a flag drawing station and a design station.
- Play music from the country throughout the session.
- Rotate small groups through each station.
- Share the dish together and display flags and designs.
You will need
- ingredients for a simple dish
- printed flags
- paper and markers
- fabric scraps
- music playlist
Make it easier or harderSimplify each station for younger children; older children can research and present the country.
SafetyCheck allergies before cooking; design outfits respectfully rather than as costumes that stereotype a culture.
