French Day / Bonjour Bakery Role Play
Bonjour Bakery Role Play
Children run a pretend French bakery and market stall, using simple French greetings and polite words to buy and sell paper breads and pastries.
How to run it
- Teach a short word list: bonjour, au revoir, s'il vous plaît, merci and the numbers one to five.
- Set up a bakery counter with paper or playdough breads, croissants and fruit, each with a price tag in euros.
- Give shoppers a few paper coins and shopkeepers an apron and a basket.
- Children take turns serving and shopping, greeting each customer in French.
- Swap roles so everyone gets to be the shopkeeper.
