Science Day / Weekly Science Session
Weekly Science Session
A regular hands-on experiment session where children try safe kitchen-cupboard science and talk about what they discover.
How to run it
- Choose one simple experiment each week using kitchen ingredients only.
- Set up the station with trays and safety glasses.
- Let children predict, try and record what happens.
- Finish with a quick chat about why it worked.
You will need
- kitchen ingredients like bicarb, vinegar, salt
- trays
- cups
- safety glasses
- recording sheets
Make it easier or harderUse simple watch-and-tell activities for younger children, or let older children choose and plan experiments.
SafetyChanged to kitchen ingredients only; do not use household cleaning chemicals and supervise closely.
