Magic Day / Vanishing Coin Trick
Vanishing Coin Trick
Children learn a classic close-up trick where a coin seems to vanish under a cup, then practise their patter to fool an audience.
How to run it
- Glue a circle of paper over the mouth of a clear plastic cup and trim the edge.
- Place the cup upside down on a matching sheet of paper.
- Cover the cup with a cloth, slide it over a coin and lift the cloth so the coin seems gone.
- Practise in pairs, then perform for the group.
You will need
- clear plastic cups
- paper matching the table mat
- glue sticks
- scissors
- coins or counters
- small cloths
Make it easier or harderUse large counters for easier handling; older children can invent their own patter or a second reveal.
My Time Our Place · Outcome 4, Outcome 5Children persist with practice and communicate confidently while performing.
