Book Week / Theme Reading Challenge Tracker
Theme Reading Challenge Tracker
The whole service works together to fill a giant visual tracker designed around this year's theme, adding a sticker or token for every book or reading session completed.
How to run it
- Design a large tracker that suits this year's theme, such as a path, a map, a tree or a rocket's journey.
- Set a shared goal for the week, such as a number of books or reading minutes.
- Each time a child finishes a book or a reading session, they add a token with their name and the title.
- Celebrate together when the tracker reaches the goal.
You will need
- large sheet of card or paper
- markers
- stickers or paper tokens
- glue sticks
Make it easier or harderYounger children count picture books read with a friend; older children log chapters or minutes and work out how far is left to the goal.
My Time Our Place · Outcome 2, Outcome 4Contributing to a shared reading goal helps children feel connected to their group and motivated as learners.
