Children stuff their own soft bear, or a sock bear, and write an adoption certificate giving it a name, birthday and personality.
How to run it
- Prepare bear kits or socks, stuffing and rubber bands or thread.
- Children stuff their bear and close it with educator help.
- Shape ears and a head using rubber bands on sock bears, then add felt or marker features.
- Children complete an adoption certificate with the bear's name, birthday and favourite things.
You will need
- bear kits or socks
- toy stuffing
- rubber bands

Make it easier or harderYounger children can use rubber bands only; older children can hand-sew seams and buttons.
SafetySupervise any needles, and avoid small buttons or beads for younger children as they are a choking hazard.
