International Dot Day / Spotty Dot Hop Game
Spotty Dot Hop Game
A lively floor game where children hop, jump and stretch between big coloured paper dots as the caller shouts colours and body parts.
How to run it
- Tape large coloured paper circles to the floor or draw chalk dots outside, spread across the space.
- The caller shouts a colour and an action, such as 'Hop to red!' or 'Left hand on blue!'.
- Children move to a dot of that colour as fast as they can; there is no getting out.
- Speed up the calls, add combinations, and let children take turns as caller.
You will need
- coloured paper circles or chalk
- masking tape
Make it easier or harderFor the youngest, use only colours; for older children, add left and right, and two-part instructions.
SafetyTape dots down flat so they don't slip and keep the area clear of furniture.
