Children create bright, symmetrical floor patterns with coloured rice or chalk, inspired by Diwali rangoli designs.
How to run it
- Show pictures of rangoli designs and talk about how they welcome guests.
- Draw a simple symmetrical outline on card or the ground with chalk.
- Fill sections with coloured rice or chalk, working from the centre out.
- Photograph the finished designs before tidying up.
You will need
- coloured rice
- chalk
- card templates
- small spoons or cups
Make it easier or harderUse pre-drawn templates for younger children; older children can design their own symmetrical patterns.
