Milk Bottle Watering Cans
Children turn clean milk bottles into watering cans, fill them from a rainwater tank or leftover water, and use them to water the garden while splashing about on a warm day.
How to run it
- Collect clean plastic milk bottles with lids.
- Educators pierce several small holes in each lid with a heated skewer or a thick nail and hammer.
- Let children decorate their bottles with permanent markers or stickers.
- Fill bottles from a rainwater tank, a bucket of leftover drink water or washing-up rinse water.
- Water the garden beds and finish with free splash play using the cans.
