Pamper and Zen Day / Fizzy Bath Bomb Making
Fizzy Bath Bomb Making
Children mix bicarb soda, citric acid and colour, then press the mix into moulds to make fizzing bath bombs. Part science, part pamper.
How to run it
- Children wear gloves and safety glasses.
- Mix bicarb soda and citric acid in a bowl.
- Spritz lightly with water and a drop of food colouring until it holds together.
- Pack into moulds, set to dry and test one in water to watch it fizz.
You will need
- bicarb soda
- citric acid
- moulds
- food colouring
- spray bottle of water
- gloves
- safety glasses
Make it easier or harderYounger children can help with pre-mixed batches; older children can measure and compare ratios.
SafetyWear gloves and glasses as citric acid irritates eyes and skin; skip essential oils for sensitive skin and label bath bombs 'not food'.
My Time Our Place · Outcome 4, Outcome 3Children observe a chemical reaction while creating something relaxing to take home.
