Escape Room Day / DIY Escape Room
DIY Escape Room
Children solve a chain of locks, codes and riddles to escape the room before time runs out.
How to run it
- Write a short storyline and create four or five linked puzzles.
- Hide clues around the room, with each answer opening the next lock.
- Brief teams, start the timer and let them work through the puzzles.
- Give hint cards when needed and celebrate each escape.
You will need
- number padlocks
- lockable boxes
- clue cards
- hint cards
- timer
Make it easier or harderUse fewer, picture-based puzzles for younger teams; add a time penalty for older ones.
SafetyNever lock the room door itself.
