Music and Dance Day / Clapping Rhythm Circle
Clapping Rhythm Circle
Children sit in a circle and pass clapping rhythms around, copying each pattern and adding new ones.
How to run it
- Sit together in a circle.
- Clap a short rhythm and have the group copy it.
- Pass the lead to the next child to create a new rhythm.
- Gradually add body percussion like clicks and stomps.
Make it easier or harderKeep patterns short for younger children; older children can layer two rhythms at once.
