Mindfulness Day / Breathing Buddies
Breathing Buddies
Children lie down with a soft toy on their tummy and watch it rise and fall as they practise slow, calm breathing.
How to run it
- Give each child a soft toy and a mat.
- Have them lie on their back and place the toy on their tummy.
- Breathe in slowly so the toy rises, and out so it falls.
- Count breaths together, then talk about how their body feels.
You will need
- soft toys
- mats
Make it easier or harderKeep to a few breaths for younger children; older children can try longer counts.
