Bottle Wormery
Children layer soil and sand in a clear bottle, add worms and watch how they tunnel and mix the layers over a week or two.
How to run it
- Cut the top off large clear bottles ahead of time and tape any sharp edges.
- Have children add alternating layers of damp soil and sand.
- Gently add a few worms and some leaf litter on top.
- Cover the outside with dark paper and keep the wormery somewhere cool.
- Check the tunnels every few days and release the worms back into the garden afterwards.
