Graffiti and Street Art / Stencil Spray Art

Stencil Spray Art

Children cut stencils and spray watered-down paint through them to create street-art style pictures.

How to run it

  1. Have children design and cut simple stencils from card.
  2. Fill spray bottles with watered-down washable paint.
  3. Tape the stencils onto large paper hung outside.
  4. Spray lightly, then lift off the stencil to reveal the image.

You will need

  • card
  • scissors
  • spray bottles
  • washable paint
  • butcher's paper
  • masking tape
Make it easier or harderUse pre-cut stencils for younger children; older children can layer stencils in several colours.
SafetyUse washable paint, wear smocks and remind children never to spray towards faces.
