Bug Day / Spider Web String Art
Spider Web String Art
Children wrap wool around a notched paper plate to create their own spider web, building patience and hand-eye coordination.
How to run it
- Cut small notches around the edge of each paper plate before the session.
- Tape one end of the wool to the back of the plate.
- Have children wrap the wool across the plate through the notches to form a web.
- Tape the end down and add a craft spider if desired.
You will need
- paper plates
- wool
- scissors
- sticky tape
- craft spiders (optional)
Make it easier or harderUse fewer, larger notches for younger children; older children can try a spiral orb-web pattern.
SafetyEducators should cut the notches; supervise scissors use.
