World Teachers' Day / Skill Swap Sports Stations
Skill Swap Sports Stations
Children who are good at a sports skill run a station teaching it, from soccer dribbling to skipping tricks, and everyone rotates through as learners.
How to run it
- Ask for volunteers who can confidently show a skill, such as dribbling, skipping, netball passing or hula hooping.
- Set up one station per volunteer with the equipment they need.
- Rotate small groups through each station every five to eight minutes.
- Finish with a showcase where each group shows off a skill they just learned.
You will need
- balls
- skipping ropes
- hula hoops
- cones
- timer
Make it easier or harderYounger children can co-lead a station with an educator; older children can design a short skills test and give each learner a tip.
SafetySpace stations well apart, provide water breaks and use sun protection outdoors.
