World Art Day / Pop-Up Gallery Opening
Pop-Up Gallery Opening
Children curate their own artworks into a pop-up gallery, writing artist labels and acting as guides at an opening for families.
How to run it
- Have each child choose one or two artworks they're proud of.
- Help children write a gallery label with their title, materials and one sentence about the work.
- Hang or display the work and make a gallery map.
- Hold a gallery opening at pick-up time where children guide families through the exhibit.
You will need
- children's artworks
- card for labels
- Blu-Tack or string and pegs
- markers
Make it easier or harderYounger children can dictate their label; older children can act as curators and group works by theme.
