Children decorate hard-boiled eggs or card eggs with bright patterns inspired by Persian tiles and the paisley-like boteh design, ready for a haft-sin display.
How to run it
- Show pictures of decorated Nowruz eggs and Persian tile patterns, pointing out repeating shapes, flowers and the curved teardrop boteh.
- Give each child a cooled hard-boiled egg or a large card egg shape.
- Draw patterns with permanent markers or paint pens, starting with a centre line and repeating shapes around it.
- Display the eggs on a tray or with your haft-sin table.
