World Book Day / Our Service Anthology
Our Service Anthology
Every child writes and illustrates one page for a group book, then they add a title page, author notes and a copyright page, learning how real books are published.
How to run it
- Explain that World Book Day also celebrates the work of authors and their rights to the stories they create.
- Agree on a topic or theme for the book and give each child one page to write and illustrate.
- Have a small team design the cover, title page, contents and a copyright page listing every author.
- Bind the pages with a hole punch and string or a stapler and add the finished book to the service bookshelf.
You will need
- A4 paper
- pencils and coloured pencils
- card for the cover
- hole punch
- string or long-arm stapler
