Tie Dye Day / Glue Batik Fabric Art
Glue Batik Fabric Art
Children draw designs on fabric with glue, paint over them, then wash out the glue to reveal a batik-style pattern without hot wax.
How to run it
- Tape fabric squares to card and draw designs with gel or PVA glue.
- Let the glue dry completely, ideally overnight.
- Paint over the fabric with watered-down fabric or acrylic paint.
- Once dry, soak in warm water and gently scrub off the glue to reveal the pattern.
You will need
- cotton fabric squares
- gel or PVA glue
- fabric or acrylic paint
- paintbrushes
- tubs of warm water
Make it easier or harderUse simple shapes for younger children; older children can design detailed repeating patterns.
