Chalk Festival / Giant Chalk Murals
Giant Chalk Murals
Children work together to create large chalk artworks across the playground, transforming the space with colour.
How to run it
- Mark out sections of playground for each group.
- Agree on a theme or let groups choose their own.
- Draw and colour the mural with chalk, blending colours with fingers.
- Hold a gallery walk and take photos before the rain washes it away.
You will need
- chalk in many colours
- water spray bottles (optional)
Make it easier or harderYounger children fill in outlines; older children plan a design on paper first and scale it up.
SafetyProvide sun protection and shade for long sessions outdoors.
