Under the Sea / Fishing Net Tag
Fishing Net Tag
Taggers link arms to form a fishing net and try to catch fish as they run across the field; each caught fish joins the net.
How to run it
- Mark two safe zones at either end of a field with cones.
- Choose two children to start as the net, linking arms.
- The fish run from one safe zone to the other when the net calls out.
- Caught fish join the net until only a few fish are left.
You will need
- cones
Make it easier or harderUse a smaller field for younger children; older children can add a 'shark' role.
SafetyPlay on soft grass and agree on gentle tagging only; break up nets that get too long to stay safe.
My Time Our Place · Outcome 3Fast cooperative tag builds fitness, teamwork and spatial awareness.
