Feely Bag Textures
Younger children reach into mystery bags and use only their sense of touch to describe and guess what is inside.
How to run it
- Place one object in each cloth bag, such as a sponge, pine cone or spoon.
- Let children take turns feeling inside without looking.
- Encourage describing words like bumpy, smooth or squishy.
- Reveal each object and talk about the guesses.
You will need
- cloth bags or pillowcases
- objects with different textures
Make it easier or harderUse very familiar objects for younger children, or have older children match pairs by touch.
