Block World Day / Block World Obstacle Course
Block World Obstacle Course
Children run, crawl and climb through an obstacle course built from boxes and mats, styled like a blocky pixel video-game world.
How to run it
- Stack boxes and lay mats to create jumps, tunnels and balance paths.
- Decorate boxes as blocks of grass, stone and water.
- Explain the course and demonstrate each section.
- Children take turns completing the course, timing themselves if they like.
You will need
- cardboard boxes
- mats
- paint or coloured paper
- cones
- stopwatch
Make it easier or harderSimplify sections for younger children; older children can design and build a new level.
SafetyCheck the course for trip hazards and keep stacks low and stable.
